Parenting Support & Education


In addition to the Parent Support programs offered through River Source Family Center,

a variety of Parent Education options are available through our lead agency, Family Support Center.


Parent Services Program Goals


  • Encourage parenting skill development based

     on current child and adolescent development

     research. 

  • Foster learning and family growth through

     individualized family plans.

  • Guide parents as they assess and rely on

     existing strengths to create and meet new

     parenting goals.

  • Provide families with information on community

    resources and services.

  • Build a partnership between the family and the Parent Educator.



Parent Education services are confidential and provided free of charge by a staff Parent Educator through

structured parenting classes, individual office sessions, and in-home visitation.


Be Strong Families Parent Cafe'


Parenting is the most important job and you deserve a night out at Parent Cafe'! Engage in conversations with other parents facing similar daily struggles, joys, and questions in raising children. Parent Cafe' will give parents a chance to build on their parenting strengths.

Your Journey Together

Building the Resilience of Children and Families


Your Journey Together is a free multi-week parenting class for those looking to enhance their parenting experience. Your parenting can be easier and more effective! This class is facilitated by Parent Educator Robin H., curriculum created by Devereux Center for Resilient Children.
